Manos del Uruguay is a World Fair Trade Organization certified coop. It. was founded in 1968 by five women looking to develop economic opportunities for women in Uruguay, and has been offering fair wages, education opportunities, healthcare, and more ever since. Each skien is hand dyed by artisans throughout Uruguay who are members of the Manos Cooperative.
